Sources

Varamir mixes public regulatory filings, licensed market data, and datasets it derives itself. Those are not interchangeable, and the product never presents them as though they were. This is what stands behind each part of a page.

Public filings

SEC EDGAR

Filings are read directly from the SEC's EDGAR system. They are public records, free to access, and every claim built on one links back to the filing it came from.

10-K · 20-F
Annual reports. The source of every supplier and customer relationship in the graph — see methodology for how an edge is extracted and verified.
NPORT-P
Fund portfolio reports. The source of ETF holdings and of the ETF-exposure strip on a stock's page. Filed quarterly and published roughly sixty days after the period they cover, so every holding is shown with its report period.
8-K · Item 2.02
Results-of-operations announcements. Used to record when a company actually announced earnings, and whether that landed before the open or after the close — derived from EDGAR's own acceptance timestamp, not from a vendor's calendar.

Company materials

investor relations

A hand-curated list of company investor-relations feeds is crawled weekly, primarily to catch earnings-date announcements at the source. A date found this way is marked confirmed and outranks any vendor estimate it disagrees with; the headline and link that carried it are stored alongside, so the claim can always be traced back.

News

headlines and links only

Varamir crawls public feeds and stores the headline, the link, the publisher, and the timestamp. It does not store or reproduce article text — that is the publisher's. Where a one-line summary appears beneath a headline, it is Varamir's own composition from the headline and its metadata, not an excerpt.

Publishers currently crawled:

  • SEC (8-K and 6-K filing feeds)
  • PR Newswire
  • GlobeNewswire
  • CNBC
  • MarketWatch
  • Nasdaq (trading halts)
  • Yahoo Finance

Macro calendar

official schedules

Release dates for economic events come from the issuing bodies' own published schedules — the Federal Reserve's FOMC calendar, the Bureau of Labor Statistics release schedule, and the Bureau of Economic Analysis release dates. No intermediary, and no estimated dates.

Licensed market data

a vendor's, not ours

Prices, price history, company profile information, earnings estimates and actuals, and options data are supplied under licence by a market-data vendor. These are the fields Varamir rents rather than owns, and they carry the vendor's terms: they are shown here for you to read, and are not offered as a feed, a bulk dataset, or a machine-readable interface.

Prices are not represented as real-time unless a page says so. Where an options-derived range is shown it is described as market-implied — a statement about what current option prices imply, never a forecast.

Varamir-derived

our own arithmetic

These are computed by Varamir from the sources above. A filing is an input to several of them; that does not make the output a disclosure, and it is never labelled as one.

Relationship graph
Extracted from filings by Varamir, with the verbatim disclosing sentence attached to every edge. The extraction is ours; the sentence is the company's.
ETF exposure
Aggregated by Varamir across fund filings to answer “which funds hold this stock” — a view no single filing contains.
Earnings record
Measured report-day price reactions over the last eight quarters, computed from Varamir's own stored daily closes against the announcement dates above.
Event sensitivity · pair beta
Historical arithmetic over past release days and past co-movement, each shown with its sample size and lookback window. Measurements of what happened, not predictions.
Implied move
Calculated by Varamir from listed option prices around a report date, with the calculation date recorded.

AI-composed text

labelled wherever it appears

A language model writes three things on this site: the one-line summaries under news headlines, the note on an earnings record, and the hourly market-drivers narration. Each is composed once from the data described above and served to everyone — never generated per user, and never a source of facts in its own right. The relationship extraction described in methodology also uses a model, gated by the verbatim-citation check.

Not investment advice. Varamir is not a brokerage and does not execute orders. Prices via Intrinio; the tape shows ETF proxies. The supply-chain graph is published under CC BY 4.0; licensed market data is not redistributable.
